Ashland
The Town of Ashland is located between Hopkinton and Framingham, with easy access to highways and the MBTA commuter rail. It’s location half way between Worcester and Boston leads to great commuting into either city.
Historical highlights of the town include it being the original starting point of the Boston Marathon (which has since moved just down Rt. 135 into Hopkinton). It was known as a busy mill town in the late 1800’s – (shoes and boots were it’s main product). In 1916 Henry E. Warren developed the Warren Synchronizing Timer which led to the creation of the first synchronized electric clock. He then founded Telechron and partnered with GE to manufacture electric clocks until 1979. You can’t help but notice that Ashland is home of “The Clockers” for that very reason.
Ashland is a tight knit community that feels like a small New England town but is easily accessible to all that Metro West has to offer!
Some of the unique characteristics of Ashland include: The Corner Spot and Ashland State Park.
